NOT LIKE THE OLD ONE!
By gaylen goettsch (I am an Owner) on Jun 16, 2020This is our third Gator and this rough running sputtering thing wouldn't come close to the first two. I thought it was a plug no thought it was exhaust, no. After reading these reviews I realize this is a common problem. I can't believe how much worse this 625i is compared to our oldest one which ... was a 6 wheel turtle. It was really slow but ran like a trooper for 10 years!!!

625xuv
By 1103596446 () on Sep 08, 2013I have the same problem of a 625 not running properly. It too started running rough and dying just around warranty time. I was told I had bad gas, but that was not the case. I have been told to try additives, but they are not working either. The machine runs fine at speed, but idle around spraying ... or working and it will not run. I have been told I may need a new injector system at 270 hours! How do I know that system will be any better after spending almost a thousand dollars? It seems this may be a pattern with this machine from what I am hearing. I am very disappointed because I use this on a cattle farm and it is not performing as I expected. I will likely look for a different manufacturer if I don't get satisfaction. I was at a recent ag event where people could drive their xuv's around and mine was the only one sputtering and dying.

Disappointed
By Richard Mann (I am an Owner) on Jul 17, 2013Buying a Gator was a dream come true for me, as someone who has used JD equipment since young but never had the extra money for a Gator. At 11 months and 60 hours, it died. I contacted John Deere and they steered me from bringing it in and just suggested additive and engine treatments. Finally, I ... found a blown ECU fuse, put a new one in, and it worked ... until one month after the warranty expired (13 months and 65 hours of engine time). Just keeps blowing the ECU fuse. John Deere won't stand behind it. I understand a 12 month, 1,000 hour warranty, but this is John Deere, not some cheap company that doesn't care about loyalty -- at least I thought. Found out it was a severely bent and frayed wire from the ECU that wasn't secured in the harness at manufacture; it was rubbing against the front drive shaft. I'm $350 poorer and very frustrated with JD. JD wants every penny it can get, even if it means losing thousands from one customer over time.
