2006 Woilverine
By JimmyZ (I am an Owner) on Mar 14, 2015I bought my 2006 wolverine in 2008 thus getting a good deal on it for that and it was not, "Yamaha blue" but all white with grey accents. I watched for years as the small dealer struggled to sell it so I made a low but reasonable offer and told them to call me if they could release it. I was new ... to the sport and didn't want to start with a large machine and knew I'd eventually buy a larger one upon experience. It appealed to me that it ideally combined the suspension of the rapture and the 4x4 of the Grizzly and had a hard time understanding why they had difficulty selling it. I rode my wolverine exclusively for years on local trails and logging roads here in N. Idaho and loved how it performs in that element. I did hunt with it for a couple seasons but found that with the solid rear axle it was more prone to tip then my buddy's with independent suspension especially on stepper side hills. I did go on to buy an 08' Grizzly 450 later for hunting to overcome those diverse conditions but ultimately prefer my wolverine in ALL other situations. Having the luxury of owning both at the same time and aware of their strengths and weaknesses in different disciplines - I cant help compare and test them against each other. I refer to my wolverine as my caddy because it rides much smoother, is quick and extremely agile due to its light weight. I have ridden other brands but prefer my Yamaha's for the price. I believe the wolverine is an under-appreciated concept and well thought out design. I feel fortunate no one wanted this bike due to its (hybrid) dual purpose capabilities and, of course, (lack of) color not being marketable in this sportsman/hunter green part of the country. I really enjoy riding and recommend this quad!

Utilitarian as it gets
By Grady (I am an Owner) on Mar 06, 2012Whether you trail ride or need a quad for around the house, the Yamaha Wolverine is the perfect quad to do it all. With push-button 4 wheel drive, sporty stying, and a responsive suspension, the Wolverine can plow 10 inches of snow and ride miles and miles on trails in the same day. Personally, ... I use my 06 Wolvy year-round. I plow my driveway in the winter, which works fantastic. I've never had a problem pushing wet, heavy, Ohio snow. Even with over 12 inches of snow on the ground, the Wolvy kept it's traction with the stock Maxis tires. Spring, summer and fall I ride the Hatfield McCoy trails in West Virginia. Averaging about 80 miles a day, the Wolvy sees the terrain only sport quads dream of getting out of. Mud pits are no match for the 4wd system of the Wolvy. With the solid rear axle, you can swing around corners as if you were on a sport quad, all while enjoying Yamaha's CVT transmission with allows for good power at any moment. If you're looking for a plow that can be used for practically anything, look no farther than the Yamaha Wolverine 450!

By Mike Feltis (I am an Owner) on Dec 26, 2010Nice light atv, thanks to strait axle design.
witch is fun in it's own right,(powerslides).
Won't keep up with the big atv's on long straitaways, but still a good trail machine.
