Shifting is frustrating to say the least!
By Les Wills (I am an Owner) on Oct 17, 20142005 650 Traxter Max Auto CVT was delivered by the dealer and he had trouble off loading brand new machine because he couldn't shift gears.
I have had trouble ever since, getting dealer to reset linkage, changing idle speed, rocking heavy machine in difficult terrain, etc., etc.
My ... belief is it is badly designed and Bombardier has not corrected it even after they became aware of all of the complaints.
My recommendation is do not trust their service policies and credibility!

Couldn't be happier with Traxter Max
By Jim Howe (I am an Owner) on Dec 24, 2012I originally bought this ATV used as a means of reaching a remote property in rugged terrain with no roads within 10 miles. It is necessary to cross 5 fast running creeks with depths of from 6 inches to two feet.
The Traxter Max has performed beyond all expectations. On my last trip ... to the mountainous property one of the deeper creeks had eroded the bank so severely that the front wheels could hardly touch the upper part of the bank with the ATV at about 80 degrees. I was prepared to jump off sideways as I gave it the gas but it did not flip. Somehow the Traxter wheels made purchase with the slippery bank and I was up and over.
The only complaint I have is that the long turning radius makes it necessary to make three point u turns. I saw that the specs advertise a radius of 7+ feet. But I think it is much greater.
I now use this ATV to pull a 50 inch rough cut mower on the slopes of another mountain property where I live year round. The slopes would be a challenge for most heavier equipment, but the Traxter Max makes the ideal tractor for this use.
