Love this atv
By Bruce (I am an Owner) on Dec 21, 2016I have only owned the outlander for year and a half. It had 110 miles on it and it had never seen dirt. It was kept in an airplane hanger and only used to run around the airport. It was like show room new. It has about 350 miles now. I ride it mostly on my friend's 200 acre farm in western PA. Plenty ... of power to pull PA hills with 2 people. Even with 580 pounds of riders on it. Max speed was 50 mph across an open field. Had to replace the muffler with an evo big gun since you can no longer find factory. That is the only down fall of this older model. Some parts are no longer available. Strong and durable bike. Passenger is more comfortable than driver. Crossing creeks and mud bogs is no problem even with 2. the wider wheel base keeps the quad grounded even when pulling out of water. All my buddys love it during hunting season.

Great machine
By Joe Metz (I am an Owner) on Sep 21, 2016Bought mine brand new in 2005. It is now Sept 2016. I have had zero issues. Changed oil, changed brakes, and a new battery or two along the way, and that has been it. Still runs great, handles great, and the true two up seat is prized when others are hauling someone on the back of a one person machine. ... Mine has been beaten hard, and buried plenty of times deep in the mud. It has been 11-years, so time to buy something new, but this machine has been so great, I am a bit hesitant to let it go.

Voltage regulator
By Steven Mattson (I am an Owner) on Nov 16, 2012I bought a 2005 / 400 Can AM because I had heard about their great dependabilty. The machine I bought had..yes 16 miles on it in 2011. After replacing the battery all seemed okay until the machine stopped running and all the lights on the dash lite up and it stopped running. After towing it back ... I took it to a dealer in Grand Rapids, MInnesota and they informed me that it needed a new voltage regulator. Total cost was $350.00! What gives? Recall I'm not aware of?

Two up machine
By Merlin Thompson (I am an Owner) on Jan 11, 2012This is a great two up machine. It has tons of torque when you are climbing steep grades. The engine braking is also a huge plus because I hardly ever use my brakes. We do most of our riding above 8500' elevation. This ATV has plenty of power for two grown adults. Top end is over 45 mph at that ... elevation. Probably would be faster at a lower elevation. I have around 3000 miles on my unit and it has been a great machine.
