wheelin and feelin
By andrew yamaha krueger (I am an Owner) on Mar 04, 2013READ THIS!!!!!!!!! bought my quad as of last year brand new. I statted out with a can-am ds 90x but sold it becasue i was ready for a bigger quad. i decided to stick with my cannt-am and got the ds 250. I really recomend anybody to NOT get this quad do to bad starting problems and its not fast at ... all!!! well lets get to the raptor. i jump mine and ride er hard. If its going up hill climbs, no problem. Me personaly, i dont really mud with it, but i ride mx so its getting a good hard ride. Jumping is pretty good for the quad. I still have my stock shocks on it. i recomend this quad to EVERYONE who is under the age of 16 (or ability to ride the yfz 450). you dont need an after market exaust at all. the only thing i recomend for parts is hand guards, and nerf bars. i personaly have pro taper handle bars, alba racing front bumper and nerf bars, and homemade back bar.

2010 Yamaha Raptor 250
By Andrew (I am an Owner) on Dec 02, 2010Hi, im the proud owner of a 2010 raptor 250. This quad has many great aspects including power, turning, maneuverability, and many more. This atv has amazing power for its size. Its not too big or small, and its realy "flickable" or it can be turned on a dime. Power is pretty good, it has plenty if ... your in the right gear. The gearing-The gearing is ok but nuthing great. I would appreciate reverse and maybe a 6th gear beacause i find myself always reaching for a 6th gear and pushing it backward alot. The weight balance is exeptional. I would reccomend this quad for a rider under 150lbs. im 130lbs and it flies with me on it.it goes great in the woods because of its maneuverablity. It can be easily drifted or powerslided. It jumps great if u know what ur doing. Track racing i can whoop up on my friends because of turning alone. This is my first quad but i have experience on other quads and dirtbikes so im experienced. On the pavement it really flies. Overall this is the best starter quad ever made. I can easily beat my friend when hes on his trx250ex no competition. In muddy conditionss its a fun quad until u get stuck but that can be aided with better tires. This quad is great and i highly recomend it to all riders.

AMAZING.
By Jacob E. (I am an Owner) on Aug 15, 2010AMAZING. The one word that describes it all. The power that you have under your thumb, the cornering, and the braking. When I first got this atv i was a little turned off by the semi-tacky decals(I put on the red "boy" flames), but once I took it for a spin around our campsite I could not stop smiling ... to save my life! I EASILY kept up with my dad and our family friend even though they have a Yamaha Wolverine 450 4x4 and a Yamaha Grizzly 550! I was faster and more agile, getting through the tightest of spots and the steepest of hills. Even when I had to charge up a 75 degree incline made up of nothing but gravel! Yes, I had to get some speed up before I took the challenge but who wouldn't! I rode on gravel roads, hard-packed dirt trails, up steep dirt hills and turns that were the texture of Ovaltine. The ONLY modification that I made was getting Fasst Co. Flexx Handle bars because the grave roads and vibrations were killing my arms. That seemed to be the only thing I really needed. Every thing else like nerf bars and hard gaurds were only for extra safety. And a new exhaust system? NOT NEEDED. It sounds great and has MORE than enough power. I'm 16 years old, live around Portland, Oregon, and my favorite place to go is Brown's Camp in The Tillamook National Forest.
