10 Years later - still running like a champ.
By Scott Fazzina (I am an Owner) on Aug 10, 2020I bought this rig new in 2010. I beat the ever living piss out of this thing. Still runs perfect. It still has the original spark plug, the carbs haven't been adjusted, just oil changes, new brake pads, cvt belts, and a couple snapped axles. I put a clutch kit in mine for some better lower end ... torq - but overall nice rig.

Going back to Honda
By Farmer John (I am an Owner) on Oct 10, 2013We purchased a new Polaris Sportsman 500 HO in 2010 for our farm. We use it for farm work and not play. We always maintain and keep our equipment in good condition and dont abuse it. That being said...I have had our Sportsman to the dealer for repairs a nummber of times. The fuel pump went out ... twice, (and we always run good fuel, at least 91 octane) and the radiator had to be replaced although we have not had it in rough conditions. Keeps overheading, dying and not wanting to start back up just when we need it the most (spraying weeds...etc.) We have used Hondas in years past. Now I'm trading our Polaris on on a new Honda next week.

Easy Rider
By jasper Robinson (I am an Owner) on Jul 31, 2012This a great all around machine..The only problem I have currently is that the selenoid packed up.I understand that this is a common recognized problem with the 2010 & wonder why there is no recall replacement coverage.

So far, so GOOD!
By Kenneth Barron (I am an Owner) on Jan 18, 2012I purchased a 2010 Polaris 500 and a Polaris 800 in that year. I must say that I have been exceedingly pleased with both of these machines, especially the 500 h.o. I have ridden the 500 so much I now have almost 5000 miles on the unit. I recently changed the belt on the 500, but I usually ride it ... at high speeds(50-60+) and that probably shortened the belt life. Otherwise, it has produced a flawless performance. When I'm riding it anywhere, I feel just like king, like I own the best four-wheeler in on Earth. For power, speed, and quality features I feel are unmatched by anyone, I humbly nominate the Polaris 500h.o. Before you say it, yes, I did try out some of the other manufactures atvs... They just didn't add up. I have ridden the 500 so much, I have never even gotten to my first 50 hrs. On the 800h.o.(which is yet another review) I've read a few sour reviews from some of the others, and from my experience on my own 500, I just can't understand how they could be having the issues they claim. No one outside of a professional rider rides their unit more than me, and after almost 2yrs. Worth of hard riding, I'm yet to encounter a single issue. I would definitely buy Polaris again.

Nice when new. That is before we used it!
By Brady mondore (I am an Owner) on Jan 10, 2012Ill start off with the first day we got it that it was a nice atv. When we went to use the winch it didn't work so we had to take it back to the Polaris dealer to get it fixed. after about a month of having it the digital gauges stopped working so back to Polaris it went. After we got it back it ... worked good for a while but after a couple of months the front CV joints started going bad and after a wile of not using the four wheel drive the rear CV joints started going. One day i had some friends over and his atv broke down so when i went to tow him back to the barn i had to tow him up a muddy hill and i was spinning so i stopped locked it in to four wheel drive and started pulling him again i got the top of the hill and the front CV joints snapped so now i was comepletely out of four wheel drive. after i got them fixed the next thing to go was the clutch. Now today the Atv is a year and a half old and i have replaced the CV joints four times and the clutch so now i am taking it to Polaris and going buy a Polaris ranger.I am so disapointed with the quality of this Atv. oh and the carberator hoses keep coming off!!!!!!!

Fantastic Bike
By Randy Zurbrigg (I am an Owner) on Jul 16, 2011I perchased my bike in early August 2010. Since then it has performed beautifully. I have taken it to our hunt camp many times were we have some very extrem trais, and it handles them with ease. The only issue I have had has been a bad spark plug. Changed it out and it's back to firing up instantly ... without the need for the choke. Love this bike and will definately perchase another one.

By Dana Balderree (I am an Owner) on Sep 17, 2010Have owned this atv for about 4 months and have nothing but praise for it. It is my fourth atv and by far the smoothest and best quality of them all. No problems whatsoever.

polaris sportsman 500 HO
By gary blaylock (I am an Owner) on Feb 09, 2010I am so pleased with this machine. It exceeds any expectations I had and the price is outstanding compared to similar models that quite frankly will never match up to Polaris. I purchased two of these models and I would tell anyone with confidence that Polaris sportsman 500 HO is it!!!!!!
