It's alright for what it is
By Tommy (I am an Owner) on Aug 18, 2017I bought a Kawasaki bayou used and it's pretty good for a utv I've had it for 3 days and it's already having problems like overheating not running very good burns oil stuff like that. Didn't both me as much as when the front shock broke off and I was scraping the ground home on my now busted ATV.

Great ATV for the $$$
By Jinx (I am an Owner) on Jan 08, 2014I have pulled trailers, mowers, played in the snow, romped in the mud, cut trails threw the woods, dragged a deer home, and so much more... A bang for the $$ all day long, and both still run strong!!

I don't know
By Chris (I am an Owner) on Mar 22, 2012I got my Kawasaki Bayou 250 used but only a little bit. My friend had a Honda Rancher 420 and others had there 250 dirt bikes. I was able to keep up with some dirt bikes but my ride was awful compared to everyone else. I thought I didn't have any shocks. (but somehow I did) The ride quality is really ... bad. Its bouncy and jerky. Plus, I'm on the smaller size so every time I leaned into a turn, my leg would hit the engine that sticks out 2-4 inches from the body and burn myself pretty good. If you are looking for a utility vehicle, pay the extra money for a Honda rancher or something other than this. Unless you are a farmer dragging hay or something, this is not the best choice. Especially for teens.(me) I got this when I was 15, I grew into it really fast with no previous knowledge on how to ride one. It came easy to me. If I am ever able to get a new quad, Kawasaki is not going to be my first choice. More like the last.

Bayou 250
By john (I am an Owner) on May 13, 2009Around the summer of 2008 i believe, my family went out to a dealearship to get an upgrade from our little 90 (yeah im 15 and ive had the 90 for a long time). We decided a 250 was good for the price and it was true. The Bayou was not as expensive as the suzuki that i thought we were getting, and ... it seemed to be just as good, if not better. its very comfortable (good shocks!) and the seat is large.
id say 50+ mph for the 2008 bayou in 5th gear top rev.
