2006 Kawasaki KFX® 400

Bought it well used. I have it more than a year now. It is a good quad, goes everywhere. However, i suggest wheel spacers as the quad is not very stable on original width.

I also suggest taller rear tyres if you gonna ride on stony terrain or deep mud. Original 20x10x9 are not tall enough ... for this. I have been using 22x10x9 with smaller front toothwheel. Original is 16 teeth, and I use 14.

So, smaller toothwheel, bigger tyres, and wider wheels makes this quad perfect for forrest, mud and mountains.

Purchased this quad couple years ago from original owner and it has never let me down. Outside if replacing battery, air filter and tires the KFX 400 is beast on trails and track, plenty of power and more than capable suspension. Only potential negative is the transmission lacking 6th gear.

When new they seem like they have a super light flywheel. It's a lean spot in carburation. A jet kit takes care of that at a fairly low cost. Other than that I have no complaints about the machine.

When i bought my kfx400 i underestimated it i thought it wasnt going to have very much power cause it is a little cc motor but as i took them corners and drifted it i started really likeing it then i did a tune up on it and found out it need a spart plug after i changed that it made a big difference ... and i cleaned the airfilter and put it back on it i would say that the kfx 400 is a good and stout quad maybe not the fastest but i would say its better than the 400ex from what other riders have told me its faster than the 400 ex iam not sure yet i havent had the chance to race one but i look forward to doing so i also wasnt to sure about if i would get very much air on it but when i jumped it i scared my self and i also love the braking on the quad its very reliable it has alot of power and if your not watching it you will be looking at the sky when you go to taking off if you give it just a little bit of gas and keep in mind this quad has no modifications done to it and its good for the kids to ride also my kids love it the wife dont like it cause its a standard but she is starting to like it alot so i will rate this quad as a 10
