Un happy with my John Deer Gator 2015 XUV 550
By Lisa Gilbert (I am an Owner) on Aug 30, 2020Trouble with my John Deer Gator XUV 550 4x4 right after I purchased it new in 2015 the promblem it would not change into gear you would need to turn it completely off then change the gear then restart it after driving it for about 20 min . It was taken to the first dealer with them telling me I needed ... to drive it more then the second time took it back and they put a clutch in it and took off the wider belt than came on it and put a up dated belt on it . Brought it home after driving it around still had the same promblem but now it also sitting at idle with foot off brake the JD would be moving and when you did put your foot on the gas pedal the gator would jerk real hard . Took it back to another dealer with them putting another clutch in it and telling me there is no fix for it. So with 100 hrs on it I finally took it back to the place I purchased it will hopefully they will get to the promblem and have a fix for it.. I love the looks of the gator, the seats are great however it doesn(TM)t hold up to the slogan Nothing runs like a Deer a John Deer.

Great if you can't afford better
By 1261188679 () on Aug 09, 2020Had one for about 5 years now, never been in the shop once. Great for work around the farm and pretty good for having some fun too. Mud is really not a super big obsical as long as you have good momentum. Snow definitely is not it's strong suit ad it will get beached in any snow over its ride height. ... Would definitely recommend.

Trigreen Cookeville,Tn
By Sue alexxa (I am an Owner) on Jun 28, 2017Purchased new gator from trigreen. Never ran properly, they never serviced it properly, now it sits. Could not shift so had to pay another company to replace clutch. No help from dealer or corporate. Buying a Deere is a very big risk.
Would love to get some compensation ftom Deere, vehicle ... has less than 50 hours on it. Always kept inside. Looks new.

Thank you

Gator, never worked.
By Gery (I am an Owner) on Jun 28, 2017Bought a new 550 u t v from trigreen in cookeville,tn
First year in shop eight times. Could not shift, was stuck in field.
They are not reputable and returned vehicle in SAME condition;
finally deere issued a recall on the clutch, they replaced it...
we think.
Shifting ... difficulty returned, went to another deer dealer who said clutch was bad..replaced at our expense. The vehicle has UNDER 50 hours on it and is garages....looks new.
Now it stalls. Will run 5 seconds or more and sputters out. Dealer in mcminville,tn is closed, will not go back to trigreen in cookeville so more expense looms. Deere corporate has not helped. Lost me and all around me as customer. Just bought a Kubota riding lawn tractor..yep, was ready to get the deere...but no way!
Any help on getting deere to refund dome money would be welcome info. Any help on what the stalling is also welcome.
Thanks.

No winter machine
By Terry Birch (I am an Owner) on Dec 29, 2016This machine was a major disappointment. In the first few weeks the engine would backfire. Twice it was returned to the dealer. John Deere refused to replace the carbeurator, saying it was dirty gas. No way. The shifter cables freeze in cold weather, making the machine unusable. The governor fluctuates, ... the colder the temperature the greater the fluctuations. The rear differential lock is a crap shoot. Sometimes it works sometimes it won't. Do not buy one of these machines.
