problems
By BOB HARRIS (I am a Writer) on Jul 21, 2014after one year the gas gauge stopped working. Only had 22 hours on the vehicle. Had to pay for a new one.
After 164 hours the clutch/transmission went out, which is today. I understand this costs around 4 or 5 hundred to repair. I also heard is is a defect many owners have experienced.

Great Machine
By Bob Johnson (I am an Owner) on Dec 12, 2011Ours had a grinding noise in the front differential (read about this problem before we test drove one) and the dealer replaced a defective pinion (a known problem from the factory on 2011 825i machines) and the noise disappeared. It shifts hard in 4WD, but so far, I have been unable to get it stuck. ... Pulls a 1000 pound bale of hay through the mud and snow like it isn't even back there.

John Deere Gator 825i XUV Impression
By tcotta (I am an Owner) on Oct 19, 2011I recently purchased a new Gator 825i and I must say I am very impressed. I ran it over some very deep ruts at 30 MPH and I did not even feel them. John Deere has put together probably the best all around utility and sport package of all of the "working" side by side class out there. I have driven ... the Rhino's and Rangers, and pound for pound, the XUV 825i serves my ranching and fun time needs perfectly.
