Like a Champ
By Taylor Green (I am an Owner) on Sep 29, 2013My brother and I both got one of these in the fall of 06. Other than a shoddy battery on his, these things refuse to quit. I have upgraded mine with Moose Utility Division hand guards and a Warn XT25 winch, and I'm thinking of getting a set of Maxxis Bighorn radicals. The stock Bridgestone tires ... handle most terrain pretty well but tend to lose their bite in soft sand or mud (as I learned first hand). The transmission will, on occasion, not want to shift but this can be fixed by cycling through the gears while rocking back and forth. Overall, 9 out of 10. Good job Honda.

Best quad ever!
By David Meadows (I am an Owner) on Jun 19, 2013I have rode many quads im 22 years old and i ride this quad harder then most. I have pulled a cord of wood, boat, sand dune, and much more. I have jumped it over 45ft mudded it over and over i have drove it though creeks up to its handle bars and much more. I trail ride with dirt bikes i can go anywhere. ... I have rolled it over a dozen times and all i do is change its oil. I do everything with it i have over 5800 miles on it and it is still runing strong!

Dependable machine
By don lenc (I am an Owner) on Nov 18, 2011Bought this quad after trading in a 2004 suzuki z250. This quad does it all, automatic and manual shift, digital console, alternate pull start option(never had to use) 4WD strong, shaft drive. used this machine to pull my John Deere Gator out of a mud pit and it handles great. Do yourself a favor, ... change oil regularly, tuneup once a year and you .ll never be stranded.

Great quad
By Josh Cale (I am an Owner) on Jun 19, 2011The honda rancher 4x4 es is a great quad for anyone out there who is looking to hit the trails. It is 4x4 so it can get in and out of the mud holes with ease but yet is small enough for anyone to ride. It also has a great towing ability for pulling big loads. It is a fun and safe quad for anyone ... to ride.

Great ATV, the best PAL on the Farm
By Kenneth H. Dice (I am an Owner) on Mar 04, 2010I purchased my Rancher 4x4 es,new in 2006. I use it both to Hunt, just trail ride and to use for many farm chores as well.My farms are in the applician mountains of wva, some of which is very rough terrain,it goes smoothly through all the jobs I have for it to do.It's a real joy to ride and a much ... needed machine because of my present health condition. It hasn't ever let me down, and I can cover a large riding area in a limited amount of time. It's easy to operate and is really balanced giving it great ability to be taken through sometimes very difficult places with the greatest of ease. It's as dependable as my right hand...Kenny

Was pretty good, but now pretty bad
By david lodge (I am an Owner) on Jun 09, 2009I bought this 4 wheeler brand new back in Sept '06, and even though its no racer it was fun at first. Here recently though it has developed problems with slipping out of gear and not wanting to shift gear. I wouldn't be so mad if it hadnt been ridden only a little over 400 miles, always been garage ... kept & never been mudding. To top it all off today it won't shift out of neutral at all! I guess I'm gonna have to pay Honda an arm & a leg to get it fixed even though their ES seems to be a common problem if you check out the ATV forums
