New Cub Volunteer owner
By Jeff Greer (I am an Owner) on Feb 07, 2021I bought my Cub second hand 2009 with 134 hrs an older fellow owned it , I thought how can I go wrong here , noticed that the oil lever was super high and did not see any seal leaking so I thought the old boy just put to much in , got it home started to drain oil and realized the transmission was ... empty , the drain plug looks like the oil pan drain, I called and he had it survived by a local guy and apparently the guy drained the tranny and filled the crank case with an extra qt. and a half , he said he had run it for 10 hrs not knowing any different . I flushed the tranny and didn't get much metal flake in the oil , seems to be running ok , fingers crossed .

By RS (I am an Owner) on Jun 19, 2010I have owned the Cub Cadet Volunteer for a year now, and have had nothing but good results. Has performed in every aspect through some very rough terrain.

PIECE OF CRAP
By FRANK MCKENZIE (I am an Owner) on Feb 10, 2010BOUGHT MY VOLUNTEER, AT BASS PRO SHOPS IN LEEDS AL., IN THE FIRST PART OF JANUARY, 2009.
BY THE END OF JANUARY, IT WAS IN THE SHOP. WITH ONLY 9 HRS ON IT, THE TRANSMISSION WAS GRINDING WHEN I TRIED TO PUT IT IN GEAR.
THE SERVICE MANAGER, HAD TO CONTACT CUB CADET, FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW ... TO REPAIR IT.
CUB CADET TOLD THEM TO REMOVE A SHIM OUT OF THE CLUTCH AND THAT SHOULD FIX IT.
NOW, IT IS BACK IN THE SHOP AT BASS PRO WITH THE CLUTCH AND / OR BELT SLIPPING AND AFTER 3 WEEKS, THEY TELL ME THAT THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT AND THE CUB CADET REPRSENTITIVE WILL NOT RETURN THEIR CALLS OR EMAILS, TO GIVE THEM ANY ADVICE!! SO, NOW EVERYBODY IS JUST SITTNG AROUND, WAITING ON THE UTV FAIRY TO COME AROUND AND WAVE HER WAND AND FIX IT. IN THE MEAN TIME PAYMENTS GO RIGHT ON.
