If you've spent time in a Talon, you know the R trims are the ones built for speed and rough country. For 2026, American Honda is giving those machines a little more bite underfoot. The two "R" configurations now come factory-equipped with 30-inch tires, up from the 28s that the rest of the lineup keeps.

What the Bigger Tires Buy You

The point of the switch is practical. Larger tires increase ground clearance and improve the machine's ability to roll over obstacles in rough terrain. That's the difference between picking your way carefully across a rock garden and just driving through it. If your riding leans toward wide-open backcountry and faster, nastier ground, the taller tires are exactly what you want.

Honda is holding the line at 28 inches on the four "X" trims, and that's a deliberate call. Those versions are built for nimble handling and precision in tighter terrain, the kind of wooded two-track where a smaller, lighter-steering tire keeps you quick through the turns. The lineup now splits cleanly by how and where you ride.

The 2026 Lineup and Pricing

The Talon family returns with six configurations split between two-seat and four-seat builds. All six run Honda's 999cc engine. They're built in the USA at the Timmonsville, S.C. and Swepsonville, N.C. plants using domestic and globally made parts.

On the two-seat side, the 1000X starts at $20,599, the 1000X FOX Live Valve runs $22,799, and the 30-inch-tire 1000R FOX Live Valve comes in at $23,799.

For families and hunting crews hauling more gear, the four-seaters start with the 1000X-4 at $23,099, the 1000X-4 FOX Live Valve at $25,099, and the 1000R-4 FOX Live Valve — the four-seat machine with the 30-inch tires — at $26,099.

All six are offered in Pearl Red and Matte Forged Bronze, and all are available in February.

"Whether you're carving through technical trails or hitting top speeds across open terrain, the 2026 Talon lineup delivers confidence-inspiring performance and versatility," said Colin Miller, Manager of Experiential Marketing at American Honda.
