The Honda Talon is a great sport-rec rig, and though it isn't a household name like the Polaris RZR or Can-Am Maverick, it's still a well-rounded machine in any trim and spec. Instead of rocking the boat, Honda has barely tinkered with it for the 2026 model year, choosing to equip the 1000R FOX Live Valve and 1000R-4 FOX Live Valve with 30" tires and leave the rest untouched.

30" tires are great and all, and Kenda makes a solid tire across the board, so this should be a good choice for the machines and segment in which they live. That said, 30"s are a nice upgrade over the otherwise standard 28" size on lower trims, even if we are living in the world of 33" and 35" tires on top-tier rigs these days. Then again, the Honda's price tag is nowhere near what other manufacturers charge for their big-dog rigs.

Beyond the new rubbers, there isn't any mention of other changes to the Talon 1000 side-by-sides for 2026. All Talon 1000s have a 99cc four-valve Unicam® parallel-twin engine that makes 104 horsepower, and it's paired to a market-exclusive dual-clutch transmission. Standard 1000Xs are 64" wide and get Showa shocks. The Talon 1000X FOX Live Valve retains the 64" width but gains FOX Live Valve suspension, while the 1000R FOX Live Valve is 68.1" wide and gets the suspension from which its namesake is derived, while getting the aforementioned new-for-2026 30" tires. All three trims are available as two-seaters or four-seaters, designated by a "-4" in their name.
