CFMOTO is recalling around 2,650 of its ATVs for a crash hazard caused by a throttle that can fail to return to the idle position. That's never news you want to hear, but at least we can say good on CFMOTO for addressing the issue rather than letting it become more of one. Thankfully there has only been one injury to date from the problem at hand, but the brand has issued a stop ride for vehicles until a fix is completed.

Recall number 25-019 issued by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is dated October 24, 2024 and applies to some 2024 CFMOTO 800 Touring and 2024 CFORCE 1000 Touring All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs). Vehicles under this recall were sold in gray, orange, black, and camo color schemes, with the VIN stamped on the frame behind the right rear wheel.

The recreational off highway vehicles were sold in gray, orange, black and camouflage (camo) colors. CFMOTO is printed on the rear fender sides of the vehicle and CFORCE is printed on the upper side panels of the body. The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is stamped on the vehicle’s frame behind the right rear wheel.

The hazard at hand is described as "The throttle lever on the recalled ATVs can fail to return to the idle position when a driver releases it, and the vehicle could then unexpectedly continue to accelerate, posing a crash hazard" and is repairable.

CFMOTO and the recall being discussed herein recommend the ATVs in question are sidelined until the free repair can be performed at a CFMOTO dealership. CFMOTO will be alerting all registered owners and dealers of this stop ride notice.
