The Yamaha Wolverine has long been known as a truly versatile Side-by-Side vehicle. This particular model is a rental we picked up here at Windrock ATV Park and it’s not the current model year, but we still wanted to highlight some things we really like about it. Now known as the Yamaha Wolverine RMAX4 1000 Compact, this four-person Side-by-Side vehicle offers the perfect mix of utility and recreation all in one package. Here are five of our favorite features.

1. Compact Size

While Yamaha now offers a stretched out version of this machine that is 30 inches longer, we really love how compact the RMAX4 is in this configuration. The fact that it can hold four people and still comfortably drive on tight trails is a real bonus.

2. Versatile Cargo

You don’t always need to haul around multiple passengers in your Side-by-Side. What makes the RMAX4 brilliant is the fact that you can fold and slide the rear seats forward to expand the cargo area. This is perfect when you’re using the Wolverine for work around the property.

3. Awesome Engine

Yamaha outfitted the Wolverine RMAX4 1000 with its 999cc parallel twin engine. This powerplant offers class-leading power and smooth performance, backed by Yamaha’s legendary reliability.

4. Ultramatic Transmission

What good is an ATV or Side-by-Side if you can’t rely on it? Yamaha’s Ultramatic Transmission is built to last and is backed by an industry-leading 10-year belt warranty. It just may be the toughest transmission you can find in an off-road vehicle.

5. Navigation

Some Wolverine RMAX4 models will come standard with the Yamaha Adventure Pro navigation integrated in the dash. It wasn’t a standard feature in our rental, but we decided to shell out a few extra dollars to have it. It comes loaded with 115,000 trails and waypoints so you can always get where you want to go.
