With many different riding parks in North Carolina, this state truly allows the off-road enthusiast to live it up. Not only are there a plethora of parks in the state, but these parks are very well maintained and great spots to ride.

Scattered all across the state, the off-road parks are made for all types of ATVs and UTVs. So, strap in and let's check out some of the best off-road trails in North Carolina.

Brushy Mountain Motorsports Park

Located just north of the Charlotte area, Brushy Mountain Motorsports Park is a gem on the east coast. If you like riding tight, technical trails with your family, take a good hard look at Brushy Mountain and make sure you bring your RV or tent along with you. Primitive camping is permitted at this ride spot. With over 100 miles of trails to access from the staging area, you'll have plenty of terrain to conquer. Terrain is a mix between tightly wooded trails and some really fun rock climbs. Yes, the rock climbs are great, but it's the trails that will keep you coming back for more. Since many of them are one-way only, you can really have some fun knowing that you have the trail essentially to yourself. The park is open Friday through Sunday.

Busco Beach ATV Park & Campground

These days, many east coast-based off-road parks are only open on the weekend. Not so with Busco Beach ATV Park & Campground! This place is open 365 days a year, and it has all of the amenities needed to make your stay one to remember. Campgrounds are on the premises and house either tents or RVs. There are numerous events held at the grounds throughout the year, complete with DJs, live bands, a snack shop, AMA tracks, a repair shop, and so much more! Over 2,000 acres make this one of the premier places to ride in the state, and the adjacent town of Goldsboro has all of the supplies and fuel that you could ever want to keep the fun times rolling.

With about 15 miles of trails that consist of sandy/loamy dirt, this spot is a fun area to recreate for everyone who likes to adventure SXS with their family. Bring your RV and stay for the weekend - pets are also welcome here. Plan out your trip to include one of the event weekends and you'll be having fun with a bunch of new off-road friends!

Outback Motorsports ATV & MX Park

With an emphasis on fun activities and a family fun atmosphere, this family-run off-road park consists of more than 600 acres of trails, tracks, and everything in between. As the family likes to say, "We hope to provide an environment for families and a bit of a challenge for professional riders." Many events are held at Outback Motorsports ATV & MX Park throughout the year, and they benefit those in need. Primitive camping is allowed on site, and you can bring your dog to this site as well. Select supplies are offered when you are here, but you'll have to go to the nearby town of Laurinburg for major supplies.

Wayehutta ORV Trail

This trail system lies within the Nantahala National Forest, which is 39,680 acres in size. This popular trail traverses dense forests, several bridges over creeks and gorges and passes a very scenic waterfall. Much of the trail is fairly easy riding, but some tricky sections with steep rocky climbs and rutted hills makes for an interesting ride that can tax a rider’s skill set. A day pass is required and must be bought in advance, but there is a nice staging area with picnic tables and more.
