2015 Can-Am ATV and UTV Lineup Unveiled
The big news from BRP for 2015 is the new Can-Am Outlander L family, which you can read about here. However, several other new models have made their way into the Can-Am ATV and Side-by-Side lineup for 2015, along with a few other key updates.
Outlander 6×6 XT
New to the North American Can-Am ATV lineup is the Outlander 1000 6×6 XT ($15,549) and 650 6×6 XT ($13,649). BRP calls it the toughest, most versatile ATV it has ever made.
New to North America, the Can-Am Outlander 6×6 can carry 700 pounds.
This six-wheeled ATV, which can tow up to 1,650 pounds, has a dual-level cargo box capable of holding an impressive 700 pounds and a tilt assist feature to make dumping its contents easier. It is powered by either the 62-horsepower Rotax V-Twin 650 or the 82-horsepower, liquid-cooled Rotax 1000 V-Twin. Both Outlander 6×6 models were influenced by the four-wheeled SST G2 Outlander 4×4, but feature an additional set of rear wheels, a unique, new Double Torsional Trailing arm Independent (TTI2) rear suspension, quick-release sway bar, and a 3,000-pound WARN winch.
The Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) on the Outlander 6×6 has an extra low range “L-gear” to allow for an increased workload, but also has a softer engagement.
With the ability to tow 1,650 pounds, the Outlander 6×6 can haul more than any ATV in the Can-Am lineup.
Tri-Mode Dynamic Power Steering, 12-inch cast aluminum wheels, 26-inch Carlisle ACT radial tires, multi-function front rack with LINQ quick-attach accessory system, 625-watt magneto, 230-watt headlights, Digitally Encoded Security System, and heavy duty front bumper help complete this rugged package.
Outlander 800R X mr
The Outlander 800R X mr ($12,149) makes its return to the Can-Am ATV lineup in 2015, but is essentially all new and unique to the X mr ATV family. The Outlander 800R X mr features the 71-hp Rotax 800R V-Twin engine and the shorter wheelbase SST G2 frame and five-way preload adjustable, mud-specific shocks. It also features Gorilla Axle Silverback tires and an ITP cast-aluminum wheel package. Tri-Mode DPS, Visco-Lok QE, 3,000-pound WARN winch, X-package graphics and a multi-function digital gauge come standard.
The Outlander 800R X mr joins the Outlander 1000 X mr ($14,099) and Outlander 650 X mr ($10,499) in Can-Am’s mud-specific ATV family.
New Lower L Gear
The new lower L gear we talked about in the Outlander 6×6 models is also available on the Maverick 1000R X mr and Outlander 1000 X mr.
4,500-pound WARN ProVantage Winch
A 4,500-pound WARN winch kit includes a roller fairlead, wired remote control and integrated remote storage. The winch comes with all Can-Am Side-by-Side vehicles with an XT package.
New Commander Wheels
A new 14-inch, package-specific, cast-aluminum wheel gives the Commander a new look. The Commander 800 DPS and Commander 1000 DPS models also received an updated silver-colored cast-aluminum wheel for 2015. The Commander 1000 XT-P also has updated beadlock wheels.
Maverick 1000R X mr Shocks
New 47mm shocks and a digital camo color scheme are new on the Maverick 1000R X mr.
For 2015 the Can-Am Maverick 1000R X mr ($20,799) is outfitted with fully adjustable FOX HPG piggyback shocks. These 47mm aluminum shocks offer adjustable high- and low-speed compression, high- and low-speed rebound and multi-position preload adjustment. According to BRP, the large-diameter design and piggyback construction help dissipate heat.
New Colors
Light Grey with Can-Am Red graphics comes as a new color choice for the Commander 800R and Commander 1000 DPS vehicles. It is also available, along with Viper Red, as a base color choice for the new Outlander L models and is available as a color option for all SST G2 Outlander DPS models and the Outlander 650 6×6.
A new Light Grey color debuts on the Outlander L series.
The 2015 Commander 800R XT and Commander 1000 XT each are available with the Pearl White finish. The 1000 XT also offers a new, optional Brushed Aluminum color with Can-Am Red highlights. Both Pearl White and Brushed Aluminum with Can-Am Red highlights are available as optional colors on select Outlander and Outlander MAX XT models.
This Brushed Aluminum with Can-Am Red is available on several Can-Am models.
A new Black-and-Orange color scheme will be the sole choice for the Commander 1000 XT-P side-by-side, while the Can-Am Maverick 1000R X mr is offered in two colors, its standard painted Black-and-Yellow X-Team finish or the Digital Camo and Manta Green finish.
Also new is a Black-and-Orange color scheme.
The 2015 Outlander XT-P (both one-up and two-up) will only be offered in Black and Orange, while the Digital Camo and Manta Green schematic are options for the Outlander 1000 X mr and Renegade 1000. Finally, the Can-Am Outlander 1000 Limited will wear painted Pearl White or a new Deep Pewter Satin.
