From the moment Lucas rolled the Polaris Sportsman XP 1000 Mud Edition off the trailer, it was clear this machine was built for what Windrock would throw at it. With its aggressive 30-inch Pro Armor Mud XT 2.0 tires, 13.5 inches of ground clearance, and a powerful 85HP ProStar engine, the Mud Edition is engineered to conquer the gnarliest of obstacles. The high-mounted radiator with inverted dual fans keeps the engine cool even in the thickest mud, and the shielded clutch and engine ducting ensure that water and debris stay out, allowing for confident wading through deep water crossings and relentless mud pits.
Windrock Park is a veritable playground for off-roaders, boasting over 300 miles of diverse trails. These trails range from easy, scenic gravel roads perfect for a leisurely cruise, to "Extremely Difficult" routes featuring boulders, cliffs, and deep ruts that demand every ounce of skill and the full capability of a machine like the Sportsman XP 1000 Mud Edition. Lucas put the ATV through its paces, navigating technical ascents and descents, plowing through seemingly bottomless mud holes, and soaking up every bump with the plush independent rear suspension. The factory-installed 3,500lb Polaris HD winch, a standard feature on the Mud Edition, offers peace of mind should things get a little too gnarly.
Beyond the adrenaline-pumping rides, Windrock Park offers a comprehensive experience for visitors. Located just 20 minutes northwest of Knoxville with convenient access to both I-75 and I-40, it's easily accessible. The park features a full-service campground for those who want to extend their stay and fully immerse themselves in the outdoor lifestyle. A well-stocked General Store provides everything from trail maps and permits to snacks and souvenirs. Throughout the year, Windrock also hosts a variety of events, from competitive races and mud bogs to family-friendly gatherings, ensuring there's always something happening.
